Patton was a Lieutenant General (and later General) when he was an Army Commander. Even at my current rank and with 23 years of service I have never even met the Lieutenant General or General that falls in my chain of command. So for me it would not make any difference.
3. Two fainting spells in three weeks: Armchair physicians, tell me why?
I have low blood pressure and I faint easily. I am also extremely thin. I have something called...mitral valve prolaps? I took martial arts classes with the two top heart surgeons in my city and they diagnosed it right in class. They said it was common in very thin people. Always best to ask doctor if you can. Did your father tell them that you had previous fainting spells?
4. To all you armchair economists out there, what is the biggest mistake our country made, economically speaking?
I agree with number 1, I marginally agree with number 3, in that were the government going to increase spending taxes should have risen to match the spending, and or ending corporate welfare to offset the spending would also have been beneficial. I also think that the single biggest thing wrong with our economy is that we are an economy based on consumer spending that was kept afloat years past it's expiration with easy credit. Our economy can not be repaired until we move from one kept up with consumer spending, to a manufacturing/producing economy.
5. If Pres Bush reinstituted the draft what excuses would the armchair warriors have to ignore it?
They would have already signed up for the millitary if they were planning on fighting for their country. However, if they are over 40 then it's possible that they have already faught for our country in previous wars
